What a Fabulous Week at John Lewis, Poole, Dorset!

I am incredibly thankful to John Lewis for the opportunity to showcase my small business, The Cornish Surfer, through their in-store pop-up shop initiative with Popup Indie. This week has been nothing short of amazing, with an overwhelming response to the quality of my products—feedback that fills me with pride and gives me the boost every small business owner needs!

To all my wonderful new customers: thank you for choosing to support a small, British-made business.

As many of you know, all my designs are lovingly created in Cornwall, from the comfort of my loft studio overlooking the ocean. This panoramic view of the sea is my constant source of inspiration, where I watch the waves roll in, breathe in the salty air, and dream up the designs and color palettes that define The Cornish Surfer.

At the heart of my business ethos is a commitment to sustainability and ethical production. I strive to partner with factories as close to home as possible and use materials that are kind to the planet, keeping my carbon footprint to a minimum.

News Flash: My Brand is Popping Up at John Lewis!

I am beyond excited to share some thrilling news with you all – The Cornish Surfer has been accepted to feature as a pop-up shop at John Lewis in Cribbs Causeway, Bristol!

This incredible opportunity marks a significant milestone for The Cornish Surfer, and I couldn’t wait to spread the word.

When and Where

Our pop-up shop will be located in John Lewis at Cribbs Causeway in Bristol. The M4/M5 corridor has proven to be very popular with our online sales, so this location is perfect for connecting with our wonderful customers in person. For all those who have supported The Cornish Surfer, I now have the opportunity to show you all of my products under one roof. Whether you’re a long-time supporter of my brand or discovering us for the first time, we promise there will be something for everyone. I’ll also be showcasing some exclusive products that are not available anywhere else, not even online! Woohoo.

Our Journey to John Lewis

For those who are not familiar with our story, we decided to leave our busy and hectic city lives for calmer seas, wide-open spaces, salty sea air, and a slower pace of life to start a family. This transition grounded us, allowing us to reset the clocks, breathe, and begin a new journey filled with passion and a creative drive that had been itching to get out. Positioned in a small fishing village on the coast, The Cornish Surfer was born.

Building a new brand comes with never-ending challenges, but they are mine to own, and I am free to be as creative as I like. That’s a win for me.

Being accepted by John Lewis and The Great Brand Exchange provides me with the opportunity to connect with new customers so that I can share my love of fabrics and design and the story behind the brand. Exciting times!
